The Dandi March was a major act of civil disobedience led by Mahatma Gandhi in 1930. Gandhi and his followers walked from Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad to the coastal village of Dandi. At Dandi, Gandhi broke the colonial salt law by making salt, showing that ordinary people could challenge an unjust law through peaceful collective action.
Option A, Dandi, is correct because it was the destination of the march. Kheda was associated with an earlier peasant movement, Bardoli with a notable revenue-related satyagraha, and Champaran with the indigo cultivators’ movement. These places are also important in modern Indian history, but they were not the endpoint of the 1930 Salt March.
Salt was needed by common people, so its tax became a strong symbol of protest. Exam tip: understand symbolic politics.

“Delhi Chalo,” meaning “March to Delhi,” was associated with the Indian National Army, also known as the Azad Hind Fauj. It expressed the call to advance toward Delhi and free India from British rule. The slogan became strongly connected with Subhas Chandra Bose and the military-nationalist movement led by him. Therefore, option A is correct. It is useful to remember the slogan together with the INA rather than treating it as a general slogan of every phase of the freedom movement.
The Non-Cooperation Movement was led by Mahatma Gandhi in the early 1920s and had a different programme and vocabulary. The Home Rule Movement demanded self-government through political campaigning, while the Indigo Revolt was a peasant protest against oppressive indigo cultivation. Neither is the source of “Delhi Chalo.” The slogan’s direct connection with the INA and its call for an advance toward the capital identify option A clearly.
The naval revolt showed military discontent and weakness of British control. Exam tip: connect 1946 with unrest before independence.
The Cabinet Mission provided the basis for forming the Constituent Assembly. Exam tip: study 1946 with constitution making.

This Act gave legal basis to the creation of India and Pakistan. Exam tip: remember Acts with results.
The direct answer is A: preparing the draft Constitution. The Constituent Assembly created a Drafting Committee to convert decisions and principles into a clear legal document. Dr B. R. Ambedkar was its chairman. Step by step: the Assembly discussed the structure and ideals of independent India; different committees made reports and recommendations; the Drafting Committee organised these materials into constitutional articles; the Assembly debated and adopted the final Constitution. Option A is correct because drafting means preparing the written form of the Constitution. Option B, building railways, is an infrastructure task, not a constitutional task. Option C, making a Salt Law, is unrelated to the committee's work. Option D, fighting the Battle of Plassey, refers to an eighteenth-century historical event and could not be the work of a constitutional committee. Memory cue: Drafting Committee = written constitutional draft = Ambedkar.
Junagadh's accession to India followed public opinion and political pressure. Exam tip: remember examples of complex princely states.
Both European powers wanted to expand their influence in South India. Exam tip is to link the Carnatic Wars with European rivalry.
