Gender issues related to work

In Class 11 Home Science, this topic explores how gender shapes work, livelihoods and career choices. Students examine the division of labour between paid employment, unpaid household tasks and care work, along with occupational segregation, unequal wages, limited opportunities and workplace stereotypes. They learn to recognise the value of unpaid work, question traditional assumptions, and understand why shared household responsibilities, equal access to education and skills, and fair treatment at work are important for individual and family well-being.
