How does the Prime Minister influence the policy direction of government?
Answer and explanation
By leading the Council of Ministers and coordinating major decisionsमंत्रिपरिषद का नेतृत्व और प्रमुख निर्णयों का समन्वय करके
Correct answer: A. The Prime Minister is the head of the government and the leader of the Council of Ministers. By selecting or recommending ministers, distributing portfolios, chairing Cabinet discussions and coordinating the work of departments, the Prime Minister helps set priorities and maintain a common policy direction. Major decisions are still taken within constitutional procedures and the Council of Ministers, not through the Prime Minister's personal authority alone. B is wrong because the Election Commission is a separate constitutional authority. C is wrong because the Prime Minister does not become a judge and the judiciary must remain independent. D is wrong because Rajya Sabha members are chosen through the constitutional electoral process, not simply by the Prime Minister. Memory cue: the Prime Minister is the coordinating centre of the ministry, not a substitute for every institution.सही उत्तर: A।
