If \(f(x)=x^2-9\) and \(g(x)=x-3\), what is the simplified form of \(\left(\frac{f}{g}\right)(x)\)?

Answer and explanation

Correct answer: \(x+3,\ x \neq 3\)

\(\frac{x^2-9}{x-3}=\frac{(x-3)(x+3)}{x-3}=x+3\), but \(x=3\) is not allowed. Even after cancellation, remember the original denominator.
