Suspensions
In Class 9 Science, students study suspensions as heterogeneous mixtures formed when relatively large, insoluble solid particles are dispersed in a liquid. They learn to identify their visible particles, observe how the particles settle on standing, and understand why suspensions are unstable and can often be separated by methods such as filtration or decantation. Examples like muddy water help students compare suspensions with true solutions and colloids while exploring the separation of mixtures.
