In Class 9 Mathematics, the topic Median introduces an important measure of central tendency in the Statistics chapter. Students learn to arrange observations in ascending or descending order, identify the middle value for an odd number of observations, and find the average of the two middle values when the number of observations is even. They also practise calculating the median from simple data sets and interpreting it as a representative value that is less affected by unusually high or low observations.
