Central symmetry
In Class 9 Mathematics, the topic Central symmetry develops students’ understanding of how a figure remains unchanged when rotated 180° about a fixed point. Within the study of Quadrilaterals, they learn to locate the centre of symmetry, match each point with its opposite point at an equal distance, and identify centrally symmetric figures such as parallelograms, rectangles, rhombuses, and squares. They also distinguish central symmetry from line symmetry by examining diagrams and geometric properties.
