What is the main purpose of the whole process of taking major policy decisions?
Answer and explanation
To take thoughtful and accountable decisions in public interestजनहित में सोच-समझकर और जवाबदेह निर्णय लेना
Direct answer: A is correct. Major policy decisions affect many people, public resources, rights, and the future direction of government. Therefore, the decision-making process should involve proper information, discussion, constitutional limits, institutional roles, lawful procedures, and accountability. Its purpose is to reach a considered decision that serves the public interest and can be explained and reviewed. Option A is correct because it combines careful decision-making with responsibility to citizens. Option B is wrong because public policy is not designed only for private profit. Option C is wrong because democratic government requires transparency, explanation, and public accountability rather than secrecy. Option D is wrong because institutions such as the executive, legislature, administration, and judiciary help prevent concentration and misuse of power. A policy may not satisfy everyone, but it should be made through a responsible process and remain open to lawful criticism and review. Memory cue: good policy means public interest plus careful procedure plus accountability.
