The Model Code of Conduct is related to what?
Answer and explanation
Rules of conduct during electionsचुनाव के दौरान व्यवहार के नियम
Correct answer: A, rules of conduct during elections. The Model Code of Conduct is a set of guidelines for political parties and candidates during an election period. Its purpose is to encourage responsible campaigning, prevent misuse of official position, reduce intimidation and bribery, and provide a fair environment for electoral competition. It helps parties and candidates understand what behaviour is acceptable while seeking votes. Option A is correct because the code deals directly with election-related conduct. Option B is wrong because school holidays are decided by educational authorities and are not the subject of election rules. Option C is wrong because railway ticket booking is an administrative service unrelated to campaigning. Option D is wrong because harvesting crops is an agricultural activity. The code does not decide election results; rather, it helps maintain fairness and discipline during the process. Memory cue: “Code of Conduct” means a rulebook for behaviour, and “Model” indicates expected proper conduct.
