Charts and illustrations

The governing concept is visual communication through a real photographic record. Photojournalism informs viewers about an event, person, place, or condition, so it has a documentary purpose. At the same time, the photographer makes artistic decisions about framing, viewpoint, timing, focus, light, colour, and the relationship between subjects. These decisions affect what the viewer notices and how the event is understood, while the image still refers to a real situation rather than being purely invented. Option A is correct because it includes both visual composition and factual indication. Option B denies the essential image, and C and D describe unrelated forms. The photograph therefore acts as a bridge: it communicates information while using the expressive resources of art.

The governing concept is visual learning: pictures and charts organise information so that learners can see relationships, sequences, comparisons, and patterns instead of relying only on spoken or written descriptions. A labelled diagram can show parts of an object, a timeline can arrange events, and a chart can compare quantities or categories. These aids support explanation, recall, discussion, and participation, although they work best when a teacher connects them with the lesson. Option B is correct because it states their main educational value. Option A treats them as meaningless decoration, while C and D make absolute claims that are not supported.

The governing concept is the educational use of visual art. A chart can organise facts, labels, processes, or comparisons through drawings, lettering, colour, and layout. A model adds a three-dimensional representation that can make an object, structure, or process easier to observe. For this reason, option B is correct: charts and models make learning more visual, concrete, and accessible. They can support explanation and memory, although they work best together with clear teaching. Option A is unrelated, while options C and D describe results that are opposite to the purpose of educational visual material. The art helps reveal information rather than hide it.

The governing concept is visual communication and the use of art as a learning aid. A diagram can show parts, position, sequence, comparison, or a process in an organised form. Illustrations, maps, models, charts, and labelled drawings make abstract or complicated information more concrete and easier to observe. They also support memory because learners connect words with visible shapes and relationships. Option D is correct because diagrams and pictures clarify concepts rather than merely decorating a page. Options A, B, and C all describe hiding or reducing knowledge, which is opposite to the educational purpose of visual art. Visual material does not replace every explanation, but it can make difficult ideas clearer and more accessible.

The governing composition principle is stability combined with directional movement. A triangular arrangement usually places visual weight across a broad base and guides the eye upward toward a taller or more important object. Option B is correct because it explains both balance and eye movement. It does not equalize sizes, remove the background, or isolate every object from the group.
