Mass Participation
This topic in Class 12 History explores how Mahatma Gandhi transformed the nationalist movement into a broad-based struggle through mass participation. Students examine the involvement of peasants, workers, women, students, merchants and other social groups in movements such as Non-Cooperation and Civil Disobedience. They learn how satyagraha, non-violence, boycott and protest encouraged public action, while also considering regional differences, varied expectations, social tensions and the limits of unity within the movement.
