Why is it wrong to call mist only water vapour?

Answer and explanation

Correct answer: Because mist contains visible tiny water droplets

Answer: A. Water vapour is water in the gaseous state and is normally invisible. Mist, however, is made of very small liquid water droplets suspended in air after some water vapour condenses. These droplets scatter light, making the mist visible and sometimes reducing visibility. Therefore it is scientifically incorrect to call mist only water vapour. A states the important difference. B is wrong because water vapour is not always coloured; as a gas it is generally invisible. C is absurd because mist is not rock. D is wrong because mist consists of droplets suspended in air, so air is present. Mist and fog are similar, although mist is generally less dense and reduces visibility less than fog. Memory cue: invisible vapour becomes visible droplets when it condenses.
