Why can fog appear like a white or grey layer?

Answer and explanation

Correct answer: Because of tiny water droplets in the air (हवा में सूक्ष्म जल-बूंदों के कारण)

Correct answer: A. Fog is made of countless tiny liquid-water droplets suspended in air near the ground. These droplets interact with incoming light and scatter it in many directions. The scattered light makes the fog look whitish; under different lighting, background conditions, or greater thickness, it may look grey. A fog layer can therefore obscure the landscape and reduce contrast between objects. Lava inside the Earth may be hot but does not form ordinary atmospheric fog. Ocean depth has no direct role in the colour of a local fog layer, and fog does not consist of stones. Memory cue: the pale appearance of fog comes from light scattered by water droplets, not from solid dust or rock.
