Relationship between A.M. and G.M.
In this Class 11 Mathematics topic from Sequences and Series, students learn the relationship between the arithmetic mean and geometric mean for positive numbers. For two positive quantities a and b, they use A.M. = (a + b)/2 and G.M. = √ab to understand and prove that A.M. ≥ G.M., with equality only when a = b. The topic also develops skill in applying this result to numerical problems, inequalities, and basic maximum–minimum reasoning.
