To reason step by step, identify Gwalior as the place name, then recall that Gwalior is a city of Madhya Pradesh; the fort therefore belongs to that state. Option A is correct. Option B, Bihar, is a different eastern state and does not contain Gwalior Fort. Option C, Kerala, is in southern India and is known for a different geographical and historical setting, not Gwalior. Option D, Goa, is a western coastal state and is also not the location of this fort. The question asks for the state, not the ruler, dynasty or architectural style. Remember the simple pair: Gwalior Fort—Gwalior city—Madhya Pradesh. This prevents the common mistake of confusing it with forts in Rajasthan, Maharashtra or other states.

The Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah is located in Agra, in present-day Uttar Pradesh. It is a significant Mughal-period mausoleum built for Mirza Ghiyas Beg, who was given the title Itimad-ud-Daulah. The monument is remembered for its refined decoration, fine stone work, and use of lighter marble elements. Its location also places it within Agra’s important group of Mughal monuments and helps students connect the city with the architectural history of the Mughal period.

Option A, Agra, is correct. Delhi, Lucknow, and Bhopal all contain important historical buildings, but this particular tomb is not located in those cities. Remember the pair “Barabar Caves—Bihar” when revising ancient Indian monuments and rock-cut architecture.

Direct answer: Option A, Karnataka. Badami, historically associated with Vatapi, is in present-day Karnataka and is famous for rock-cut cave temples. Step by step: the Early Chalukyas ruled much of the Deccan from Badami; they developed and supported important temple architecture there; the caves were carved into sandstone cliffs and contain Hindu, Jain, and other religious imagery; therefore the state location is Karnataka. Option A is correct. Option B is wrong because Badami is not in Gujarat, although Gujarat also has important historic architecture. Option C is wrong because Assam is in northeastern India and is not the location of the Badami caves. Option D is wrong because “Bengal” refers to the eastern region and does not contain these Karnataka cave temples. Option C, Bihar, is in eastern India and is not the location of Halebidu. Option D, Haryana, is in northern India and has no connection with this temple’s location. Option C, Nagpur, is wrong because Nagpur is a different city in Maharashtra and is not the location of Charbagh station. Option D, Indore, is wrong because Indore is in Madhya Pradesh and does not contain this landmark. The question asks for the city, not the state or architectural style.
