Why can ending censorship and rise of newspapers be called democratization of ideas?

Answer and explanation

Correct answer: Because ideas reached more people and became subjects of public debate

When censorship was removed, writers and journalists could publish views more freely. As newspapers increased, political news, arguments and criticism reached a wider public and encouraged public debate. Ideas therefore no longer remained confined to the monarch or a small elite. Option B states the opposite. Exam tip: in this context, democratization means wider access and participation, not tighter control over ideas.
