निर्मल जीत सिंह सेखों
In this Class 9 Hindi topic, students learn about Flight Lieutenant Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, India’s only Air Force recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, and his courageous defence of Srinagar airbase during the 1971 war. Set alongside the chapter context of “Ganga,” the topic encourages close reading, comprehension and reflection on courage, duty, sacrifice and national service. It also helps students understand how Hindi writing presents a historical hero and conveys respect through vivid description and भावपूर्ण भाषा.
