Out migration

Migration is movement of people from one place to another. The direction is important when we name the process. In-migration means people enter a particular area from outside, while out-migration means people leave that area and move elsewhere. Birth increases the population naturally but is not a movement process. A census is the counting and recording of population, not the movement of people.

Option C, out migration, is therefore correct. The phrase “leave an area” directly describes people moving away from that area. Option A would be correct only if the question asked about people entering an area. Birth and census describe different population processes, so they cannot represent leaving.
