What understanding is formed by studying population size and distribution together?

Answer and explanation

Correct answer: How many people there are and where they are settled

Direct answer: Option A is correct. Population size means the total number of people living in a place. Population distribution means how those people are spread over different parts of that place. Studying both gives a fuller picture: we know both the number of people and their location. Option A states exactly this. Option B is wrong because river length is only a physical feature, not population size or distribution. Option C is wrong because mountain height alone cannot tell us how many people live there or where they live. Option D is wrong because soil colour is not a measure of population. Remember: size answers “how many?”, while distribution answers “where?”
