Why is the relationship between rivers and agriculture strongest?

They provide irrigation water and alluvial soilवे सिंचाई जल और जलोढ़ मिट्टी उपलब्ध कराती हैं
The direct answer is A: rivers provide irrigation water and alluvial soil. Agriculture needs water for crops and fertile soil for roots and nutrients. Step by step: rivers carry water that can be used directly or through canals and wells; during floods, they deposit fine alluvium on plains; alluvial soil is generally fertile and suitable for many crops; therefore river valleys and plains often support dense farming. Option A is correct because it gives both major links between rivers and agriculture. Option B is wrong because washing crops into the sea destroys farmland rather than supporting it. Option C is wrong because rivers do not normally turn productive fields into rock. Option D is wrong because rivers do not completely stop rainfall; rainfall and river flow are related parts of the water cycle. Exam cue: river plus agriculture means water, fertile alluvium and level land.
