In Class 9 English, this topic from “Reach for the Top” presents the journeys of Santosh Yadav, the first woman to climb Mount Everest twice, and Maria Sharapova, a world-famous tennis player. Students explore how ambition, discipline, courage and sustained effort shape achievement while comparing their different backgrounds and challenges. The lessons also build reading comprehension through biographies, sequencing events, interpreting details, and discussing the choices and qualities that helped each woman pursue her goal.
