Why did the Constituent Assembly give importance to economic justice?

Political rights alone cannot fully solve poverty and inequality

If people remain trapped in poverty, exploitation, unemployment, or deep inequality, they may be unable to use their rights effectively. The Constitution-makers therefore connected political democracy with social and economic justice. Economic justice means seeking fairer opportunities and reducing conditions in which wealth and resources are concentrated in very few hands.
