What is the main objective of the process from demarcation to the preparation of voter lists in India's electoral system?

Correct answer: To organise representative elections by clarifying areas and eligible voters

The correct answer is A. An election needs both a clearly defined area and a clearly identified group of eligible voters. Demarcation divides the country into constituencies so that representation is organised territorially. The voter list records the people who are eligible to vote in each constituency, subject to the legal conditions for voting. Together, these steps make it possible to conduct an orderly representative election. A is correct because it describes the purpose of the whole preparation process. B is wrong because the process supports voting rather than stopping it. C is wrong because candidates are publicly presented through the election process. D is wrong because these arrangements do not legally predetermine the result; voters choose among candidates. Memory cue: demarcation answers “where?” and the voter list answers “who?”
