Just and equal society

The governing concept is the relationship between rights and a just social order. Human rights require equal worth, fair treatment, freedom from arbitrary violence, and opportunities to participate in society. When these principles are respected, people can live with dignity and institutions are expected to treat them according to law rather than prejudice or power.
