Two bar graphs contain the same data, but one axis does not start from zero. What may happen?

Answer and explanation

Correct answer: Differences may appear larger than they really are

A bar graph normally uses a zero baseline so that the visual length of each bar reflects its full value. If the axis is truncated and begins above zero, small numerical differences can occupy much larger portions of the visible scale, making them look exaggerated. Therefore option B is correct. The underlying data do not automatically become wrong, and the title or number of colours is unaffected.
