Which option is the best practice for observing form?

The governing concept is sustained visual observation of three-dimensional structure. Looking at a real object from several angles reveals its width, height, depth, turning surfaces, proportions, and connections between parts. Changing the lighting also reveals planes, highlights, middle tones, cast shadows, and the way the form occupies space. For these reasons, option A is the best practice. Memorising a name does not provide visual information about structure, option B. Smelling paper is unrelated to observing form, option C. Drawing without looking at the object, option D, encourages symbols and assumptions rather than accurate measurement and comparison. Good observation combines seeing, comparing, and checking.
