Which is the most mature understanding of types of art?

Art should be understood through combined bases of medium, purpose, process, context and presentation

The governing concept is reasoned, flexible classification. No single feature can explain every artwork because art differs in medium, purpose, making process, cultural or social context and mode of presentation. Considering these features together helps a learner distinguish painting, craft, design, literature, music, performance and hybrid forms without treating categories as rigid boxes. Therefore option A expresses the most mature understanding. Option B incorrectly reduces the diversity of art to one type, C gives painting an unjustified monopoly, and D ignores the very clues used to interpret and classify works. A combined approach remains evidence-based rather than arbitrary.
