The direction of the light source

The governing concept is that highlights are determined by the relationship between a surface and the light source. On a cone, the highlight appears where the sloping surface is oriented most favourably toward the light; its position, size, and intensity change when the light moves. The pointed apex may catch a small bright accent, while the curved side receives a broader transition from light to shadow. The cone’s cast shadow also depends on the same light direction, but it is not identical to the highlight. Option A is correct because changing the direction of illumination changes where the brightest area is observed. Paper price, sound loudness, and title spelling have no role in visual light modelling. Accurate shading also requires attention to the cone’s circular base and taper.
