What problem occurs if a shadow edge is kept equally hard everywhere?

Answer and explanation

Correct answer: The shadow will look less natural

Real shadows do not always have identical edges. The edge nearest the object or closest to a small light source may be relatively hard, while edges farther away or produced by a broad light source become softer. Keeping every edge equally hard makes the shadow look artificial and disconnected from the light conditions. Varying edge quality improves natural appearance.
