What is the risk if all directional elements point beyond the edge of the picture?

Answer and explanation

Correct answer: The eye may be led out of the picture

Directional lines, gestures, gazes, and repeated forms guide the viewer’s eye; this is an important function of rhythm and visual movement. If every direction points beyond the frame, the eye may follow those cues out of the composition, weakening focus and unity. It will not automatically create stability or neutralize colours, and it certainly does not keep attention at the centre.
