If yellow and light red appear similar in grayscale why will they still differ in a colour composition?

Answer and explanation

Correct answer: Their hues and temperatures differ

The governing concept is that colour has several properties, especially hue, value and temperature. Grayscale mainly reveals value, so two samples with similar lightness can still differ in hue: yellow is generally warm and light red has a different hue and temperature character. Equal value does not make colours identical, and value still influences composition even when hue is also important.
