If the intensity of red, green, and blue light is reduced equally, what will happen to the resulting colour?

Answer and explanation

Correct answer: It will move toward dark grey or black

The governing concept is additive RGB intensity. When red, green, and blue remain equal, their balance stays neutral, so the hue does not shift toward yellow or magenta. Reducing every channel lowers the total emitted light and therefore makes the neutral colour darker: equal medium values give grey, and equal zero values give black. Increasing intensity would instead make the neutral colour brighter.
