If distant objects are drawn as large as nearby objects, what will happen to depth?

The illusion of depth will weaken

Artists often show distance by making faraway objects smaller than nearby objects. This change in scale gives the viewer a visual clue that the objects are farther back in space. Overlap, placement, and converging lines may also help, but if distant and nearby objects are drawn equally large without another clear cue, the scene can look flat or confusing.

Option A is correct because equal size removes an important sign of depth and weakens the illusion of three-dimensional space. It does not make depth always increase, make objects invisible, or eliminate negative space. The word “illusion” is important: a flat surface cannot contain real depth, so artists use size variation and other perspective devices to make depth appear believable.
