Emotional communication ability of art

The governing concept is emotional communication through artistic form. Art does not always communicate by stating a sentence, instruction, or factual message. Line, colour, rhythm, scale, composition, sound, movement, texture, and atmosphere can create feelings such as calm, excitement, grief, wonder, fear, or hope. The viewer’s response helps complete this communication, although the response may differ among people because experiences and cultures differ.
