The governing concept is the distinction between purely decorative or fine art and applied art. Applied art brings aesthetic decisions into objects that serve a practical purpose. A chair, table, lamp, or cabinet must work safely and comfortably, yet its shape, material, colour, proportion, and surface may also provide beauty and express an artistic idea. Option C is correct because useful furniture combines function with design and visual appeal. It does not become auditory art merely because it is designed, nor is it dramatic or literary. The word “only” in A, B, and D also wrongly ignores the object’s practical and visual qualities.
