If a small shape is exactly at the center of the canvas and a large shape is near the edge, how can focus change?

The small centered shape can still attract attention

Visual focus depends on several factors, not on size alone. A small shape placed exactly at the centre can attract strong attention because the centre is a powerful and stable position in a composition. A large shape near the edge may still be important, but its position can make it feel less central or less immediately noticed. Contrast, colour, isolation, direction, and surrounding empty space can also change the final effect.

Option A is the best answer because central placement can give even a small shape strong visual importance. The large shape does not automatically become invisible, and it is incorrect to say that position has no effect. The two shapes may create an interesting tension between size and location. Therefore, when judging focus, consider both the scale of a shape and where it has been placed.
