In Class 12 History, the topic “Harappan archaeology” introduces students to how the Indus Valley Civilisation is reconstructed through material evidence. Within “Bricks, Beads and Bones,” they examine excavated cities, brick layouts, houses, drains, pottery, seals, beads, tools and human remains to understand urban life, craft production, trade and social differences. The topic also develops skills in reading archaeological sources, comparing interpretations, and recognising the limits of evidence when studying the Harappan past.
