What type of option creates the most confusion in questions on India's size?

Answer and explanation

Correct answer: Giving a correct number with a wrong unit or wrong meaning

The governing assessment skill is to interpret a geographical figure together with its unit and meaning. A number may be factually familiar but still be wrong if it is attached to kilometres instead of square kilometres, to area instead of distance, or to mainland coastline instead of total coastline. For example, a figure for north-south extent cannot answer a question asking for area. Therefore option A identifies the genuine source of confusion. Options B, C and D do not alter the geographical meaning of a measurement; colour, brevity or using the same language is not a conceptual unit-and-meaning trap.
