Why is regular backup necessary?

Correct answer: To recover important information after data loss

Data may be lost because of accidental deletion, hardware failure, theft, malware, or an incorrect change. A regular backup creates a separate recoverable copy, so important work can be restored after such an event. Backups should be stored separately, updated often enough for the work, and occasionally checked to ensure restoration is possible.
