Raj Ghat is associated with the memory of which great personality?
Answer and explanation
The correct answer is A, Mahatma Gandhi. Raj Ghat is the memorial site in New Delhi associated with Mahatma Gandhi, who led India’s freedom movement through truth, non-violence and mass participation. The reasoning is simple: the question asks for the personality remembered at Raj Ghat; Raj Ghat is known specifically as Gandhi’s memorial, so option A matches the historical fact. Option A is correct because Gandhi’s last rites were performed there and the memorial honours him. Option B, Subhas Chandra Bose, is incorrect because he has a different memorial association, such as Netaji Bhawan and his other commemorative sites. Option C, Bhagat Singh, is incorrect because Raj Ghat is not his memorial. Option D, Sardar Patel, is incorrect because his national memorial is associated with a different place. Do not confuse Raj Ghat with other leaders’ memorials in Delhi. Memory cue: Raj Ghat means Gandhi’s memorial; remember the simple pair “Raj Ghat–Mahatma Gandhi.”
