Guru Shikhar is located near which place?
Answer and explanation
Guru Shikhar is the highest peak of the Aravalli Range and is situated near Mount Abu in Rajasthan. A peak is a high point of a mountain range, while a nearby town or hill station is often used to identify its location. Therefore, the place named in option A is the correct match. The other choices are associated with different regions: Darjeeling is in West Bengal, Shimla is in Himachal Pradesh, and Kohima is in Nagaland. Remembering Mount Abu together with Guru Shikhar helps identify both the location and the important physical feature of Rajasthan.
The answer follows because Guru Shikhar rises in the Mount Abu area, not near the Himalayan hill stations or the northeastern hills. It is also important geographically because it represents the highest elevation of the Aravalli system. Thus, option A is supported by both the location and the mountain-range connection. The question asks for the nearby place, so the more precise answer is Mount Abu rather than the broader state of Rajasthan.
