Gol Gumbaz of Bijapur was built as the tomb of which ruler?

Answer and explanation

Correct answer: Muhammad Adil Shah

Gol Gumbaz at Bijapur (present-day Vijayapura, Karnataka) is the mausoleum of the Adil Shahi ruler Muhammad Adil Shah. Built in the 17th century, it is famous for its enormous dome and whispering gallery. Ibrahim Adil Shah II was also a ruler of Bijapur, but Gol Gumbaz is not his tomb. Exam tip: associate Gol Gumbaz with Muhammad Adil Shah and the Adil Shahi dynasty of Bijapur.
