Pachmarhi is a famous place associated with which mountain region?
Answer and explanation
Option B, the Satpura region, is correct. Pachmarhi is a well-known hill station in Madhya Pradesh situated in the Satpura Range. Because of its elevated location, forests and pleasant climate, it is popularly called the Queen of Satpura. The Satpuras form an important highland system of central India and are associated with the broader Peninsular Plateau region. The Nilgiri Hills are in southern India, near the meeting area of the Western and Eastern Ghats. The Shiwaliks are the outermost and relatively young range of the Himalayas, while the Eastern Ghats occur discontinuously along the eastern coast. The question tests the association of a notable Indian place with its physical division. Since Pachmarhi is linked with Satpura, option B is correct and the other three options are geographically different regions.
