How many Sustainable Development Goals are there?
Answer and explanation
The governing fact is the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It contains 17 Sustainable Development Goals, commonly called the SDGs. They provide a shared global framework for addressing poverty, hunger, health, education, gender equality, clean water, decent work, climate action, peace and other connected development concerns. Therefore option A, seventeen, is correct. The number refers to the goals themselves; each goal contains more specific targets and indicators. Option B gives ten, which is too small, while option C gives five and option D gives thirty; none matches the official set. Remember that the SDGs are designed to be interconnected, balancing social well-being, economic progress and environmental protection rather than focusing on only one issue.
