In which year was the National River Conservation Directorate formed?

Answer and explanation

Correct answer: 1995

The National River Conservation Directorate (NRCD) was formed in 1995 to coordinate programmes for controlling river pollution and conserving rivers. The year 1985 is associated with the launch of the Ganga Action Plan, not with the formation of the Directorate. Exam tip: Remember 1995 for NRCD and 1985 for the Ganga Action Plan.
