What problem occurs if shadow on an object is in the wrong direction?

Shadows help the viewer understand the direction of light, the position of an object, and the shape of its surface. If the light appears to come from one side but the shadow is drawn in a conflicting direction, the object loses visual consistency. Its volume may seem distorted, and it can look as though it is floating, lit from several impossible sources, or not firmly placed in the scene. Correct shading makes form believable.

Option A is correct because an incorrectly directed shadow can make the form look unbelievable. Hue refers to the basic colour family and does not automatically increase because a shadow is misplaced. The paper will not become thicker, and wrong lighting cannot guarantee correct texture. Before shading, the artist should decide the light source and keep highlights, dark areas, and cast shadows consistent with that direction.
