If both sides have same shapes but one side has very dark colour what happens to symmetry?

Visual weight may become unequal

Symmetry means that corresponding parts have a matching or balanced arrangement, but visual balance depends on more than outline and size. A dark colour usually appears visually heavier than a light colour of the same area. Thus, two equal shapes can occupy equal physical space while one side attracts more attention. The composition may still be geometrically symmetrical, but its perceived visual weight and balance can become unequal.

Option A is correct because the darker side may pull the viewer's eye and make the design feel uneven. The artist should compare the values and intensities on both sides, not only the shape positions. Option B is too absolute: symmetry does not always remain perfect in perception. Options C and D fail because colour does affect weight, while a colour change does not automatically make texture disappear.
