Mechanical advantage
Mechanical advantage is the measure of how a machine multiplies the force applied to it. In this Class 9 Science topic from “Work, Energy, and Simple Machines,” students learn to compare load and effort, use the formula MA = load/effort, and understand how levers, pulleys, inclined planes, and other simple machines make tasks easier. They also connect mechanical advantage with force, motion, work, and efficiency, while recognizing the trade-off between force and distance and why real machines are not perfectly efficient.
