Time period
In Class 9 Science, within the chapter “Sound Waves: Characteristics and Applications,” students learn that the time period is the time taken by a vibrating body or sound source to complete one full oscillation. They study its SI unit, the second, and the relationship T = 1/f, where f denotes frequency. Through simple wave diagrams and numerical problems, students connect shorter time periods with higher frequencies and use periodic motion to describe sound and related wave behaviour.
