Newton’s third law of motion
Newton’s third law of motion explains that forces always occur in pairs: when one object exerts a force on another, the second object exerts an equal force in the opposite direction on the first. In Class 9 Science, students learn to identify these action–reaction forces, understand that they act on different objects, and connect the idea with motion in examples such as walking, swimming, jumping, and rocket launch. The topic also helps clarify why equal forces do not simply cancel each other.
